PROMOTING THE LONGLEAF PINE ECOSYSTEM
The longleaf pine ecosystem is one of the most diverse ecosystems in the United States. The LEAF Center manages the mixed pine timber with the intention of restoring to a dominant longleaf pine ecosystem. Since 2015, they have added over 500 acres of conversion to longleaf. Longleaf pine is also retained in each timber harvest to supplement the future forest with native reseeding.
